What happens in a hammam

A hammam is a warm, steamy bath that follows a set order: you warm up, you are scrubbed, you are washed in foam, and you rest. The heat helps the scrub work and leaves the skin soft.

What to wear

The pestemal is a light cotton wrap, and we supply it with towels and slippers. Underneath, swimwear or underwear is common and entirely your choice.

How hot is it?

It is warm rather than extreme. If the heat feels like too much, say so and our team will cool the room or let you step out. Drinking water before and after helps.

A few simple tips

  • Avoid a heavy meal just before your visit.
  • Remove jewellery and contact lenses if you can.
  • Tell us about any health condition when you book.
  • Allow some quiet time in the lounge afterwards.

Ready to book?

The Classic Hammam Ritual is the usual first choice. Reserve online for 15% off and pay at the hammam.
