Can couples go to a hammam together?
In a traditional public hammam the men’s and women’s halls are separate, so a couple usually spends the session apart. Ask any hammam how it treats couples before you book, because practice differs from place to place.
A private room removes the problem. Two guests share one room that is set aside for them, and the whole ritual happens side by side.
How the session unfolds
- You change into a pestemal in a private cabin.
- You warm up in the sauna and on the heated marble.
- A kese mitt removes dull skin.
- You are covered in foam and rinsed with warm water.
- If you booked a massage, you lie side by side for it.
- You rest in the lounge with tea or coffee.
What to wear
We provide the pestemal, towels and slippers. Many guests keep swimwear or underwear on underneath, and that is perfectly normal.
Choosing a program for two
Hammam & Oil Massage is the usual choice for an evening for two. If you would like one shared package, the Family Suite for Two covers both of you at a single price.
Booking tips
Evening slots go first in the busy months, so reserve before you plan dinner. Book here for 15% off, add your hotel for the free ride, and pay at the hammam.
